My mother spend $130.00 on the installed ipod unit and I only spent $14.99. I can not tell the difference between the sound quality of her system compared to my little inexpensive Roadtrip. This is a perfect and inexpensive way to enjoy your iPod during travel. Her mistake. I highly recommend saving yourself the time and money to have the installed systems put in and keep it simple with this little device. It has extensions to adapt to any vehicle and is really simple to use. I live in the Berkshires and the roads are rough but it has not affected the music at all.
We both are very happy with the product. I have owned one for a while and bought another as a gift for my step=son.
the transmission isn't always "clean" and there's static due to other radio stations in nearby frequencies at times but, all in all, pretty good and solid. priced very cheaply it's good value.
The mini is effectively dead, and I had to buy a new iPod. This product broke my iPod. I had a 1st generation ipod mini which lasted me 5 years and counting. Don't buy.
I'm so dissatisfied with this product, I can't with good conscience sell it to someone else, for fear of it ruining their iPod. Do yourself a favor. - However, I never had a problem with getting a frequency that worked with my iPod. - Every time I hit a bump, the iPod would come disconnected, and I'd have to hit "Play" to start it again.
I started using it in conjunction with the Griffin, to listen to audio books on my way to work. It took some serious handling to get it to fit just right into my car, and I still hit the thing every time I shifted into 3rd (I drive a manual Corolla S). Which is only the first of my complaints. Couple other notes: - The Griffin was extremely unstable while plugged in.
Not only when it was hooked up to the Griffin, but when I was using it with my headphones. I loved that thing. After about a week, I noticed distorted sound coming from my iPod.
This works great for a car without an input jack on the radio. Good product. Strong singal the music does not faid in and out as other transmitters I have tried.
